MANUELA CARVALHO

Better known as Mané or Manu, she graduated in Advertising and Marketing but it is in the water that she feels at home. Certified as a Level I Coach by the Portuguese Surfing Federation.

At 8 years old she was a Competitive athlete in the Synchronized Swimming modality in which she stood out for more than 10 years with several medals. From an early age, she dedicated herself to teaching this modality and Pure Swimming, having attended the F.P.N.

She joined CSS in 2000 first as a student and now as a Surf Teacher. And since then she has never stopped Surfing.

A born communicator, she is always in a good mood and ready for a good conversation and a good laugh. She can't live without Sun, Beach and Sea and loves to practice outdoor sports (Surf, Yoga, Skate, Run,…), as well as draw. You can find her daily or at the CSS school where she provides logistical support, or in the water.

INÊS eSTRIPA

Born in Lisbon, he fell in love with the world of sport from an early age. From skateboarding to climbing, he lived adventures and challenges that were the engine of his sporting life.

In 2010, a trip brought Surfing into his life and he quickly exchanged heights for the Sea.

"At Sea I feel tranquility, in Surfing adrenaline and immense happiness and, in teaching surfing, the personal fulfillment of sharing and feeling that happiness with students."

She is a Surf Coach with a Level II certificate, having in her Surf and Performance training passed the Surf Postgraduate Course at Universidade Lusófona where she took level I and, by the Portuguese Surf Federation where she completed level II.

FRANCISCO ESTEVES

Many hours in the water and an onslaught of nature (including camping) is your perfect day.

Lover of sports, outdoors and nature and likes to look for something different every day.

In surfing and surfskating you find that feeling of pure well being, a feeling that brings you genuine happiness and the will to continue. Perfect waves and no wind are your dream to surf. Always possible? Not really... but keep trying.

Surf teacher for about 4 years, and in 2019, he completed the Post-Graduation in Surfing and Performance (Coach Grade 1) at Universidade Lusófona.

And Evolve...? There's time for everything, no rush... It has the motto "if we flow, the surf runs even better".

DIOGO CALMEIRO

Electrical and Computer Engineering Student at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, FPS Grade 1 Coach certificate for the Surf and Performance course at Universidade Lusófona.

He started his surf training at Carcavelos Surf School more than 7 years ago on Carcavelos beach which he is pleased to call his second home.

It's in the water that she feels happy and that's why she takes great pleasure in passing on to others what CSS has taught her.
- 5th place in the National University Surfing Championship
- 1st place in Nova Surf Contests

PEDRO CARICHAS

Graduated in Philosophy from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, he started his taste and practice of surfing at a very young age.

The FPS grade 1 Surf Coach certification was obtained through the Surf and Performance course at Universidade Lusófona.

Avid lover of board sports, in particular skateboarding, where he stood out early, having toured the first national championship that took place, taking 2nd place.

Always very cheerful and polite, he loves not only teaching, but also always learning something about his students, transmitting and enriching their culture as well as his own.

PEDRO SOARES

Degree in Applied Mathematics from the Faculty of Sciences of Lisbon, Post-Graduation in Surfing from the Faculty of Human Motricity, Level II Coach Course of the Portuguese Surfing Federation, athlete with more than 25 years of experience and 15 years as a professional surfer of high competition and many trips made all over the world.

- 4 Portuguese Cup National Titles
- 2 National Titles in the Clube Nacional
- 8 titles in the Carcavelos/Cascais Circuit

Degree in Marketing Management at the Portuguese Institute of Administration and Marketing, Post-Graduation in Surfing by the Faculty of Human Motricity, Level I Trainer Course of the Portuguese Surfing Federation, Diploma of Swimmer Salvador and First Aid, athlete with more than 20 years of experience experience including 8 of high competition and many trips around the world.

NUNO ALVES

Degree in Marketing and Advertising. Postgraduate in Communication and Image. Graduate in Surfing (Faculty of Human Motricity 2010) Level 1 Coach Course (Portuguese Surfing Federation 2004) Level 2 Coach Course (Portuguese Surfing Federation 2021) He started skating in the late 80s. The passion for waves emerged in the 90s, in Carcavelos. He entered competitions, but free surfing overcame his fascination. He has collaborated in surf clubs and organized events, worked in various surfing related companies, brands and businesses. Through his many years of contact with surfboards, he developed his taste for boards with history, in different shapes and colors. Nowadays, he likes to vary his surfing between different boards, from fish, singles or longboards.

As a surf coach, he enjoys the evolution of his students and pushing for the best surf of each one, meeting people from all over the world and sharing experiences.

He currently resides in Belém and, whenever he can, he likes to escape to Ericeira or Sintra.

He likes to travel and his favorite places are Bali, Maldives, California, Hawaii and the Basque Country... and he hopes to fulfill his old dream of going to Australia.

He's always ready to hang out with family and friends, likes good music and a nice dinner with a nice glass of wine.

Many hours in the water, smiles and fun... the rest comes in addition, with work and dedication!

INÊS eSTRIPA

Natural de Lisboa, desde cedo se apaixonou pelo mundo do desporto. Do skate à escalada viveu aventuras e desafios que foram o motor da sua vida de desportista.

Em 2010, uma viagem colocou o Surf na sua vida e rapidamente trocou as alturas pelo Mar.

"No Mar sinto a tranquilidade, no Surf a adrenalina e uma felicidade imensa e, no ensino do surf a realização pessoal de partilhar e sentir essa felicidade com os alunos."

É Treinadora de Surf com cédula de Nível II, tendo na sua formação em Surf e Performance passado pela Pós-graduação de Surf da Universidade Lusófona onde tirou o nível I e, pela Federação Portuguesa de Surf onde completou o nível II.

NUNO ALVES

Licenciatura em Marketing e Publicidade. Pós-Graduação em Comunicação e Imagem. Pós-Graduação em Surf (Faculdade de Motricidade Humana 2010) Curso de Treinador de Nível 1 (Federação Portuguesa de Surf 2004) Curso de Treinador de Nível 2 (Federação Portuguesa de Surf 2021) Começou a andar de skate no final dos anos 80. A paixão pelas ondas surge nos anos 90, em Carcavelos. Entrou em competições, mas o free surf venceu o seu fascínio. Colaborou em clubes de surf e organizou eventos, trabalhou em diversas empresas, marcas e negócios relacionados com o surf. No seu contacto, de muitos anos com pranchas de surf, aprimorou o gosto por pranchas com história, de formas e cores variadas. Hoje em dia, gosta de variar o surf entre diversas pranchas, desde as fish, singles ou longboards.

Como treinador de surf, gosta da evolução dos seus alunos e de puxar pelo melhor surf de cada um, de conhecer pessoas de todo o mundo e partilhar experiências.

Atualmente reside em Belém e, sempre que pode gosta de escapar para a Ericeira ou Sintra.

Gosta de viagens e tem como lugares preferidos Bali, Maldivas, Califórnia, Hawaii e País Basco... e espera cumprir o sonho antigo de ir à Austrália.

Está sempre pronto para programas em família e amigos, gosta de boa música e de um jantar acompanhado com um bom copo de vinho.

Muitas horas na água, sorrisos e diversão... o resto vem por acréscimo, com trabalho e dedicação!

FRANCISCO ESTEVES

Muitas horas dentro de água e uma investida pela natureza (com direito a acampamento) é o seu dia perfeito.

Amante de desportos, ar livre e natureza e, gosta de procurar algo diferente todos os dias.

No surf e no surfskate encontra aquela sensação de puro bem estar, uma sensação que lhe traz felicidade genuína e vontade de continuar. Ondas perfeitas e sem vento são o seu sonho para surfar. Sempre possível? Nem por isso... mas continua a tentar.

Professor de surf há cerca de 4 anos, sendo que em 2019, concluiu a Pós-Graduação em Surf e Performance (Treinador Grau 1) na Universidade Lusófona.

E Evoluir...? Há tempo para tudo, sem pressas... Tem o lema "se fluirmos, o surf ainda corre melhor".

MANUELA CARVALHO

Mais conhecida por Mané ou Manu, formou-se em Publicidade e Marketing mas é na água que se sente em casa. Certificada como Treinadora Nível I pela Federação Portuguesa de Surf.

Aos 8 anos era atleta de Competição na modalidade de Natação Sincronizada na qual se destacou por mais de 10 anos com várias medalhas. Desde cedo, dedicou-se ao ensino desta modalidade e de Natação Pura, tendo frequentado o curso de Treinadora de Natação de Grau I da F.P.N., entre outras formações na área do ensino e desportos aquáticos.

Ingressou na CSS no ano 2000 primeiro como aluna e, agora como Professora de Surf. E, desde então nunca mais parou de Surfar.

Comunicadora nata, está sempre bem disposta e pronta para uma boa conversa e umas boas gargalhadas. Não vive sem Sol, Praia e Mar e, adora praticar desportos ao ar livre (Surf, Yoga, Skate, Corrida,…), assim como desenhar. Podem encontrá-la diariamente ou na escola da CSS onde dá apoio logístico ou, dentro de água.

DIOGO CALMEIRO

Estudante de Engenharia Electrotécnica e de Computadores na Universidade Nova de Lisboa, certificado de Treinador de Grau 1 da FPS pelo curso de Surf e Performance da Universidade Lusófona.

Iniciou a sua formação no Surf na Carcavelos Surf School há mais de 7 anos na praia de Carcavelos que tem o prazer de chamar de segunda casa.

É dentro de água que se sente feliz e é por isso que tem um enorme prazer em transmitir aos outros o que a CSS lhe ensinou.

PEDRO CARICHAS

Licenciado em Filosofia pela Universidade Nova de Lisboa, iniciou o seu gosto e prática do surf desde muito jovem.

A certificação de Treinador de Surf grau 1 da FPS foi obtida através do curso Surf e Performance na Universidade Lusófona.

Ávido amante de desportos com prancha, em particular o skate onde se destacou cedo, tendo percorrido o primeiro campeonato nacional que houve ficando em 2° lugar.

Sempre bastante alegre e educado, adora não só ensinar, como também aprender sempre algo sobre os alunos, transmitindo e enriquecendo a cultura deles como a sua.
